No.1 - Louis Van Gaal arrives in Manchester.


After leading the Dutch to a 3rd place finish at the World Cup Louis Van Gaal finally settles down at old Trafford. 

The former Ajax, Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager who has 19 major honours to his name and is a former world manager of the year in 1995, starts his tenure at United after their un-successful season in the post Ferguson era under David Moyes.

Van Gaal seems to have all the credentials to be a big hit in the Premier League and has set his sights on wining the league in his 1st season.

No. 2 - Phillip Lahm retires from international football.


After the Germans, led by Lahm, won the biggest trophy of them all this summer, Phillip Lahm has announced that he will retire from international football at the relatively young age of 30. 

“Over the course of last season, I made up my mind that I was going to end my international career after the World Cup,” he said. “I informed the Germany coach Joachim Löw of this decision on Monday at breakfast.

No. 3 - Rio Ferdinand signs for QPR.


Rio Ferdinand has been an integral part of Manchester United’s defence and leader of the major honours for the last 12 years but following his release he has signed for Premier League new comers QPR. 

After suffering from a few injuries and mainly back problems last season limiting Ferdinand to just 14 appearances, some pundits think this is a risk for QPR as they’re paying him £70,000 a week.

No. 4 - Clubless Nicklas Bendtner posts nearly naked photograph of himself on Instagram.


Nicklas bendtner is at it again posting this bizarre picture on the social networking site!

After being released from Arsenal at the end of the season and previous naughty adventures, such as being arrested for criminal damage and a drink driving charge, we’re not really sure he’s making himself seem that much of catch to attract a new club.

No. 5 - Louis Tomlinson fails in bid to buy Doncaster rovers.


One Directions Louis has failed in a bid to take over the league one club.

Himself and former chairman John Ryan tried raising £2 million to make a bid for the club but fell around £700,000 short of their target on Thursday. The club is still hoping that Louis will be involved in helping Doncaster out as much as possible in the future.
